Researcher: Philip Favero
Dr. Phil Favero works in continuing education programs with local government officials and their associations. He trained for the Peace Corps at Tuskegee Institute and served as a volunteer, working in agriculture, in Kenya. After returning from Africa, he worked in Community Economics for 30 years as a faculty member at South Dakota State and Michigan State Universities, and at the University of Maryland. His professional awards include an Extension Specialists' Award from his peers at Maryland, a Governor's Citation for mediation among environmentalists, farmers, and local governments over public drainage issues on the Eastern Shore, and the R.J. Hildreth Award for Career Achievement from the National Public Policy Education Committee. Dr. Favero obtained a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University. He holds Master and Bachelor degrees in Political Science from the University of Montana.
